Macbeth By: William Shakespeare Act II, scene i: 1. The weather for this scene is very calm, it is used to show the calm before the storm so to speak. Knowing that this will be the night that the king dies, it is ironic that the weather is so calm. 2. Banquo is unable to sleep because of the prophecies of the three witches and how they have predicted everything right so far in the play. 3. He is not even telling Banquo the thoughts that he has, and even contemplates killing Banquo who was his best friend. 4. What he means is that Macbeth is going to ask for help and that Banquo will be rewarded if he chooses to help him. 5. The reply that Banquo gives really shows that he is the foil to Macbeth, Macbeth is willing to give up his honor for power while Banquo will not. 6. Macbeth sees a dagger, something that is used to kill. Seeing this could be attributed to too much drinking throughout the night. 7. This is to show that Macbeth is not completely clear minded, it shows the audience that his mental state is not par and power or the witches have gotten the best of him.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
