Chapter 14 Questions: 1. The flying is the first thing I noticed right off the bat which fits in with the overall idea of flight, throughout the book many characters try to fly but never achieve it. This is the first time flight is achieved and it is a motif. What is real I believe is that of Jake’s father running away, I do think that he ended up just dropping Jake off at the big house but the idea of him leaving is there. 2. It shows a trait of compassion, compassion that is unconditional. His father put in the same situation would have tried harder to get the watch back as material possessions are so important to him. Chapter 15 Questions: 1. The swimming scene is Milkman’s one last chance to be by himself, for the rest of the novel he is trying to tie everyone's lives back together. 2. I think Milkman was better off with the excuse that the work had done this to him, because he has seen his father get so tied up in work all through his childhood. 3. He has learned to not be so uptight about things like his father has been his whole life.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
