Chapters 7-9 Notes & Questions Their Eyes were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston Chapter 7 Notes: - Pg. 77 “Because he began to talk about her age all the time, as if he didn’t want her to stay young while he grew old.” - Pg. 77 “For the first time she could see a man’s head naked of its skull.” Chapter 7 Questions: 1. Janie reasserts herself in this chapter by calling Jodie out after he has been making fun of her age for so long. Jodie reacts in a surprised manner as anyone in the situation would of, he is so used to taking advantage of his wife without repercussions and now things are really starting to turn on him-- which is one of his biggest fears and his character's fatal flaw. 2. Jodie seems as if he is near death, or has a terminal sickness to him. Maybe this means that Janie won’t leave Jodie, rather he will just die and then she will decide to move on to someone else-- which will maybe expose us to tea cake.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
