Week 9 Questions Bad News I have received bad news several times in my life. The time that comes to mind is March 6 th , 2000. My oldest son, Riley was born on the fourth. We were in the process of being discharged from the hospital. His pediatrician had some concerns and ordered blood work. They discovered that he had a blood infection and was immediately admitted to the NICU, where he resided for 10 days. We left the hospital without our son. But we could visit every day. I will never forget that day. I was standing in the hallway and crying uncontrollably as they escorted my son to NICU, and this very sweet lady stopped and asked if I was okay. I told her what happened and she gave me a hug and prayed with me. I never got her name but I hugged her and thanked her. She comforted me and told me everything would work out and assured me my son would live and be fine. At the time, I felt the doctor was a little insensitive to me. I did not understand the severity of the situation and she did not have time to explain. They had to rush him to the NICU and start antibiotics

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
