CEN 3721 – Fall 2017 Lab 2 Instructions Lab 2 - Informal Web Application Usability Review Preparation: This is a team assignment. Each team member will take one of the following roles: 1. Scribe : records the team's observations and conclusions. 2. Demonstrator : demonstrates the application that is under review. 3. Facilitator : locates the appropriate reference material to be used for the review; also casts the deciding vote when the team cannot agree on some aspect of the review. Background: We have been discussing the following usability goals and design principles: Usability is broken down into these goals: Effectiveness – how good a product is at doing what it is supposed to do Efficiency – the way the product supports users in carrying out their tasks Safety – protecting users from dangerous conditions and undesirable situations Utility – provides the right kind of functionality so users can do what they need or want to do Learnability – easy to learn Memorability
