Stephenson Compare/Contrast Essay Prof. D’Ambrosia 14 February 2018 The Similarities and Differences Between Robert Moses and Jane Jacobs Robert Moses and Jane Jacobs at a glance are two humans that are incredibly different. Robert Moses was a well-known urban planner who constructed an array of structures. His most local works are the White Stone Bridge and the Cross Bronx Expressway. Jane Jacobs is better known as a voice for the people of urban areas. She's an activist who promotes the voice of the people. Although Robert Moses and Jane Jacobs have immediate, obvious differences, a closer look reveals their similarities. Unexpectedly, Moses and Jacobs have many similarities; they’re just not as obvious as their differences. Jacobs and Moses had bright ideas about the urban image. They wanted it to look and function in certain ways. Albeit, Jacobs and Moses were both New York transplants, when they settled into New York, they actively pursued their urban ideas. In their ideas, they both became hard workers and problem-solvers as well. Throughout time, Jacobs and Moses
