Outline Planning Guide Introduction Introduce the topic of your argument, your claim, and the counterclaims. I. Introduction Brutus was a patriot to his country of Rome. He did all he could to help his home because he cared for it. Although some people think that Brutus killing Caesar was an act of treachery and plotting to kill him with others was a bad act he did it in the name of Rome. Body Part 1 Begin the body of your argument by presenting counter points and refuting them. Repeat the pattern until you have addressed each counter point. Use one paragraph for each counter point. II. Counterclaim A. Present counter point A Brutus plotted against Caesar B. Refute counter point A He couldn’t trust him as a leader C. Present counter point B He helped kill Caesar D.
