The informational article talks about the rise of the immigration, specifically the sudden fluctuation of immigrants entering German borders and it’s effects on German society. In the article the author, Yascha Mounk, enlightens the reader from a different perspective about the Syrian conflict. As rising amounts of Middle Eastern foreigners flood through the borders of the Germanic nation, many Native Boche are fearing that their once proud nation will be overtaken by these escapees. Mounk analyses this rational fear through many counts and personal stories of from both sides of the conflict- both Germans and a few immigrants who’ve managed to make it inside the slowly resisting borders. As Germany’s once warm welcome gradually comes to a halt, tensions between the citizens of the country and outsiders seeking refuge increasingly strengthen. As Mounk describes it, the streets become filled with the cries of Germanic protestors chanting, Wir sind das Volk ” (We are the people)-ultimately excluding those who seek citizenship or hail from other countries in peace.
