3-2: PROCESS MAPS 3-2: Process Maps Process maps are a key tool in the process of continuous improvement, and many simple and complicated tasks in all aspects of business, including, but not limited to manufacturing, supply chain and operations management. Process maps provide a tool for guidance by spelling out the steps required to complete a process. In this paper, I will show some examples of process mapping featuring daily tasks that we do regularly. The first task is making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (See Figure 1). The steps are common processes that you typically just perform and put no thought into since they are basic tasks, but the process contains at least ten steps. In my case there is an eleventh step (not shown below) where my dog begs for the peanut butter. Getting a plate, a knife, bread, peanut butter,
