CHM-101 Milestone The compound of choice is C 2 H 6 O, otherwise known as ethyl alcohol and ethanol. Most commonly found in drinking alcohol, but it is also surprisingly found in fossil fuels. This compound was chosen because of it has been woven into human history since the beginning of time. Alcohol no known as an adult beverage that is consumed mainly during socialization like dinner, gatherings, celebrations and parties. For most of us alcohol in the drinking form is common in say our weekly lives. Britannica describes it as, “Ethyl alcohol, also called ethanol, grain alcohol, or alcohol, a member of a class of organic compounds that are given the general name alcohol s; its molecular formula is C 2 H 5OH. Ethyl alcohol is an important industrial chemical; it is used as a solvent , in the synthesis of other organic chemicals, and as an additive to automotive gasoline (forming a mixture known as a gasohol ). Ethyl alcohol is also the intoxicating ingredient of many alcoholic beverages such as
