Chapter 16 Homework Problems: 34. a) According to collision theory, the reactants ( I - atoms and CH3Br molecules) will constantly colliding with each other followed by changing their direction of motion. During this process some of the effective collisions between reactants ( I - atoms and CH3Br molecules) will leads to formation of the activated complex by absorbing energy from surroundings. Finally, the activated complex will lead to form products (CH3I molecules and Br - atoms). b) Collision: The reactant particles (I - atoms and CH3Br molecules) must collide with each other. Activated Complex Formation: The collision must provide at least the minimum energy necessary to produce the activated complex. Effective collision: The orientation of the colliding particles (I - atoms and CH3Br molecules) must be favorable to formation of the activated complex. c) Because the collision between reactant particles (I - and CH3Br ) will brings together the atoms that will form the new bonds.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
