This assignment helps you apply your knowledge from this week’s modules and readings. As an employee, it will be expected that your written communication is organized, cohesive, and error-free. Following the steps in the writing process will allow you to increase your ability to effectively communicate your ideas and message in writing. Before you begin, however you must know your purpose and audience. Purpose and Audience Answer the following questions. 1. List the common purposes for writing. To inform, to persuade, to express yourself, and to entertain. 2. How does your audience shape your writing? You want it to set the correct tone. Writing to a Purpose and Audience Suppose you work for a local doctor’s office and have been asked to write an article for the office Facebook page. Posts are made monthly on topics that are interesting to all their elderly (age 65 and older) patients. The Facebook page was created to help inform them of health issues that they may face and provide resources related to these issues. You are to write about any topic related to healthcare that you think would be of interest and beneficial to the patients reading the page.
