Terrell Nickens Dr. Kepley The epic heroes that we've read about so far in class and that share a variety of similarities are, Gilgamesh in “The epics of Gilgamesh” and Aeneas in the “Aeneid” by Virgil. Both of these characters share a lot of similarities. These two characters are alike in a lot of ways. They both have a quest in which they take for personal reasons. They both share the same weakness and they both have huge obstacles in which they overcome. One of the reason why Gilgamesh and Aeneas are alike is due to the fact they both are on a quest for personal reasons. For instance, in the story “The epics of Gilgamesh” after Gilgamesh travels to the Cedar Forest to defeat Humbaba and after Enkidu's death, Gilgamesh's personal journey begins.
