1) What conditions might affect the speed of a chemical reaction? Provide at least two different examples, preferably from your field of study or work, of how changing conditions would impact the speed of a chemical reaction. Be specific with your examples. All those factors which changes the number of effective collisions, affect the rate of chemical reaction. Factors: 1)Nature of reactants: The rate of the reaction depends upon the nature of the reacting substance. The elements of I-A group react more rapidly than II-A elements. 2) Concentration of reactants: the reaction is due to collisions of reactant molecules. the more crowded the molecules are, the more likely they are to collide and react with one another 3) Surface area: Increase in the surface area of the reactant, increases the possibilities of atoms and molecules of reactant to come in contact with each other and rate enhances 4) Effect of temperature on rate of reaction: when temperature is increases, the kinetic energy of the molecules also increases. Due to the increase in kinetic energy of the molecules the move more

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
