Commercial Damages Commercial damages take place when there is the violation of the contract and businesses cases that will result in the mislaying of profits and denigrate the business. There are four major types of commercial damages; Loss profits, patent damages, securities fraud and antitrust ( Filler, & DiGabriele, 2012). In this discussion, I will deal with the lost profits. This damage is reached by accessing three major dates, incident, valuation and full mitigation. Incident refers to the latest incident or transaction that led to the loss, full mitigation or damages refers to the date and time, in which the loss occurs, Lost of profits is usually as a result of low sales. However, the business needs to put a lot of energy towards the company in order to offset the loss and alleviate the damages. Calculating the loss profits will require two methods;
