Effectiveness of American Healthcare 2 Effectiveness of American Healthcare There is a substantial gap between the quality of care that the United States healthcare system offers and what it is capable of achieving. It is therefore ineffective in applying its resources to deliver high quality care that the citizens deserve. Patel & Rushefsky (2014) notes that the United States spends more money per person on healthcare compared to other nations of the world, yet it compares poorly when it comes to the quality of care that the citizens get. This is due to the fact that while the country has some of the best hospitals, the structure of healthcare system is such that majority of people cannot access it and management of diseases is poorly done. One major inhibitor to this care has to be the rising cost which keeps most people from accessing care when they need it. Financing healthcare in the United States is something that has denied accessibility to many Americans. McCarty, Poole, & Rosenthal (2016) notes that between 2003 and 2010, the healthcare insurance premiums covering families rose dramatically by 50 percent. This significant rise on premiums is not an isolated case, and it is becoming all too common. Woolhandler, Campbell, & Himmelstein (2013) observes that every 30 seconds in the United States, someone goes bankrupt due to the inability to afford healthcare.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
