Security and Information Technology 2 Security and Information Technology Task 1 Dedicated devices Devices that hold confidential data must be used specifically for task requiring access to the confidential data. No other use should be permitted on those devices. This will help in controlling access of the data. Device Management No staff members should be given administrative privileges of any device holding confidential data so as to avoid interference and losing audit trail (Moore, 2010). Encryption Encryption technology can prevent cases of devices being hacked, and are key to recovery processes (Byrne & Rebovich, 2013). Network and remote access There is need to ensure that any device connecting to the Wi-Fi network is structured in such a way that data in transit is encrypted. Whether the device is within the organization or off the site, this move will limit access by unauthorized persons or devices. Screen locks The screensaver should be configured in such a way that it locks after an idle period, and will need a passwords to unlock. Two-factor authentication to remote data

Security and Information Technology 3 To be able to access confidential data from remote location, staff must use a two-factor authentication, such a Google Authenticator, to make sure only staff are logging in (Moore, 2010).
