Prewriting Assignment 2 Prewriting What is your narrowed topic ? Be detailed in your answer. You can use any of the versions you’ve developed for prior assignments. The topic of my essay is the banning of sex offenders from online dating. I personally do not think it is right to ban all sex offenders from online dating. I think it is important that I inform my audience of why not all sex offenders should be banned from online dating sites. Along with this, I want to include that we should be educating online users on internet safety to prevent them from falling into the traps of sex predators. Who is your primary audience or reader? Why ? Be detailed in your answer about your audience. My primary audience will be the public who is against all sex offenders being able to have online dating profiles. I chose them as my primary audience because I want to provide them with the research that not all sex offenders are bad people that should be kept away from online dating. Everyone deserves the opportunity to find love whether it is online or in person. If the offense is minor, then they should be able to have an online dating profile and have the opportunity themselves to tell their potential partner of what happened. In a sentence or short paragraph, what is your thesis statement , including your angle? Write what will appear in your essay. My point is that even though some people think that all sex offenders should be banned from online dating and that deleting sex predator accounts is enough to protect our children, not all sex offenders should not be banned from online dating sites because people can get registered
