Prof Haozhe Chen SCM 461 April 3, 2017 Assignment 3 President Trump promised a huge infrastructure push. From the speech of President Donald Trump insisted that China, Dubai and Qatar are having wise infrastructure case with successful campaigns over the past decade and the U.S. around 6 trillion budget spent on Middle East can rebuilt the U.S. more than three times by investing infrastructure. Infrastructure in the U.S. are crumbling and it needs to be replaced by government’s $1 trillion investment on both public and private investment but it does not includes detailed proposals or questions such as priority, amount of budget spending etc. However, actual example that he given countries such as China have been spent $11 trillion on infrastructure over 10 years and they need to spend $2 trillion to maintain economic growth for a year. Oxford University research team found that they are destroying economic value rather than creating such as problems of ghost cities by over budget and their absolute power of autocrats society with national financial economic crisis are possibly break out by poor infrastructure unless focus on fewer and higher quality of it. Countries in Middle East such as United Arab Emirates and Qatar are also heavily invested on their infrastructure by oil budgets to build or improving transportation system but they do not care on other countries economic situation such as international slump by oil prices. They are also recording terrible working condition for laborers and highly rely on immigrant labor more than the U.S. From 2016’s World Bank infrastructure ranking in the world, the U.S. actually recorded much higher quality of trade and transport infrastructure rather than China and Persian Gulf states that the U.S. should learn from Western European nations like Germany and France’s infrastructure priority with thriving transportation systems. Infrastructure Needs Innovation From President Donald Trump’s congress address, he spoke about $1 trillion on new infrastructure for replacing new roads, bridges and tunnels etc. with creating millions of jobs. For this goals, we should accept an innovation model with technology, private investment and state decision-making that it should not

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
