Noble 1 Cheyenne Noble March 31, 2018 Perspective in Social Sciences Dr. Roberts Reason for choosing the ads All the ads chosen have been significantly different, where they range from being a savage to meeting the parents for the first time. The Pizza Planet and the Airwaves Beach ad only have one person, and I tried to dig in depth to see how they are interacting with their surroundings. They are both serious depictions and I also wanted to dig deeper to determine why. The Orphan ad has a few people in it, where you can only see their backs because of the shirt design- which is the main purpose of the advertisement, and I liked this one specifically, because I have adopted family and friends and I liked their overall approach to advertising adoption or donations. The final ad, Garnier Hide Yesterday, has multiple people and I specifically chose that one due to the humorous background but also serious nature of the overall ad, as well as to dig deeper into why each person is acting or looking the way they do. Assumptions/Behaviors Audience. All the advertisements I chose have different audiences besides the last two, which are similar. The Pizza Planet ad is more directed to darker skinned people, or Californians, potentially even people who like a lot of meat. The Orphan ad may pertain to people who cannot have children, would like to open their home to less fortunate children, or people that would like to donate and help the less fortunate children after an earthquake or other natural disaster. The Garnier ad and the Airwaves Beach ad both essentially pertain to people who are trying to alleviate things that have happened. Specifically, the Garnier ad pertains to people who need to cover up something they have done to be formal or professional for the next thing they must do. Where the Airwaves Beach ad is directed towards people who need to freeze time for a moment amongst a time of disparity.

Noble 2 Messages. Once again, all the ads also have different messages. Pizza Planet is comparing a black man from California wearing a sideways cap, wearing chains, and sporting a Laker’s jersey to another black man who is wearing body paint and Native American jewelry with a big meat bone in his hand whom is practically a savage. From this ad, the message I get is if you’re a colored man from California who likes sports and chains then you must be a meat eating savage. The Orphan ad is depicting people wearing a shirt with a baby in a carrier on the

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
