Goal-setting plan 2 Having a goal-setting plan Since starting my career at Los Angeles Tribune there’s been nothing but success for me. In each position held the knowledge gain has played an instrumental part in my success. The CEO and the board of directors recently promoted me to an upper management position. With various problems within the organization they believe my unique skill set can indeed turn things around. Taking a further look to assess and analyzing these problems my finding concluded three troubling areas. The rising cost of paper as contribute to overspending, circulation revenue and advertising revenue is down. To fix these troubling areas a plan will need to be assess with goals, strategies and measures. “Goal setting in organizations begins with the organization's strategic planning process, which establishes the direction and purpose for the organization's goals”[Lon12]. The first part of the goal will focus on the rising cost of paper. Implementing other methods should decrease spending in this department. Second, circulation revenue is a vital part of our business. Formulating a goal to retain and increase our customer base is important. Finally, formulating a goal to increase advertisement revenue will be critical. Being in the media industry it is important that we are generating revenue from advertisements. Being put into a position to fix problematic areas within the organization it is key to have a goal-setting plan.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
