Cardiovascular System Components of the CV system - Central pump Blood Volume Distrinution - A lot of blood gets stuck in lower pressure vessels - Venus return: mechanism for blood going back into the heart - Blood flow is distributed lower half of the body - Red=oxygenated - Blue=deoxygenated blood - Webs are major capillary beads, exchange bw oxygenated and deoxygenated - Systemic circulation: goes from the heart to all the major organ tissues (head and to the body) - Pulmnonary circuit: The heart - Orientated at downward and to the lef - Normal heart rate rage is 60-100 bpm - Above 100bpm clinical definition: a fast heart (tacticardia) - Below 60bpm slow heart (radic heart) - Myocardium means heart muscle Properties of the Cardiac Muscle or Myocardium - Myosite: cardiac muscle cells are designed to be branching, extending all over the place. They have nuclei - Lines that look like they are separating the muscle are called intercalated disks. It propagates and the action potential through the heart quickly.
