Delilah Purcell Grand Canyon University SPD - 500 March 30th, 2018 TAKEAWAY As babies grow the signs of a developmental delay are present and often result in testing for speech, hearing and physical impairments. As the child continues to grow the concerns develop and open the door to evalu- ating other disabilities such as learning disability, intel- lectual impairments, autism and visual impairments. Center for Disease Control has reported, one out of six children aged 3 through 17 have one or more develop- mentally disability (cdc.gov). Developmental Delays When we begin to look at all the new things children do each day we often take for granted the ability and development of these new skills. Milestones such as smiling, cooing, rolling over, saying mama, dada, baba, crawling, walking, talking, showing emotions, making new friends, learning to read, write, interact socially, the list goes on and on. As we welcome each new milestone we must ACT EARLY, and RECOGNIZE SIGNS of a developmental delay.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
