STUDY QUESTIONS: Chapter 33 - Invertebrates 1. Know and understand figure 33.2. 2. Know the table on page 714. (which phyla are lophotrochozoans, which are deuterostomes, etc). Be able to list all lophotrocozoans, all deuterostomes, all eumetazoans etc 3. Review "Make Connections" Figure 33.9. Be able to name and describe specific adaptations for maximizing surface area. 4. Define the following terms: invertebrate, lophotrochozoan, ecdysozoan, eumetazoan. 5. For each phylum, be familiar with key identifying characteristics o Porifera Be able to describe the sponge body and how its related to their style of feeding o Cnidaria Describe the basic body plan of a cnidarian Be familiar with the general characteristics of organisms in each of the following cnidarian classes: Hydrozoa, Scyphozoa, Cubozoa, Anthozoa o Platyhelminthes Which class includes free-living organisms (not parasitic)? True or False: flatworms are triploblasts that are also acoelomates. Explain.
