The Reconquista was the war that lasted 700 years, which drove the Muslims out of Spain. This was the Reconquest of Spain. Moors were Muslims from North Africa.

6. The city of Damascus was centered in the Umayyad Dynasty. This city is in Syria today. The Umayyads was destroyed by the Abbasid family. The Umayyad dynasty continued to rule for another 300 years in the west in Spain until the 11th century.. 7. The Abbasid dynasty was centered in the city of Bagdad. This city is in the Country of Italy today. 8. Islamic Secularism is where people are Islamic but allowed to have worldly things such as wealth, riches, alcohol, ect. Islamic Fundamentalism is the basic form of the Religion without any freedom beyond the teachings. Jewish and Christian communities prefered Fundamentalism because it was an easier way to get people to convert to the religion. 9. A. The Caliphate was at its greatest height during the late 700s and early 800s. B. At it’s height, it extended from the region of Damascus to Bagdad.
