As I was reading through the various articles associated with this module, I gained a broad perspective of what philosophy is. I must admit that some of my previous assumptions were a little bit too narrow. Although many of the descriptions were very useful in expanding my understanding of philosophy, there were two of them that particularly piqued my interest. The first quote comes from Richard Bradley and is as follows, “Philosophy is 99 percent about critical reflection on anything you care to be interested in.” The reason this definition stood out to me is because it shows how broad of a subject philosophy can actually be. This quote highlights the fact that any area of life can be explored and enhanced through a “critical reflection” that is used in philosophical discussion. Personally, I will admit that I assumed that philosophy was an area of study devoted to high-minded thinking on intricate and perplexing areas of life, but this quote highlights the versatility of philosophical thought.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
