2 Team Assignment, Part I Jeemp Farms is a successful farming company, but has unfortunately seen a decline in profits this year. Your company is still selling inventory like they always have, but there has been a shift in how much the company is netting. It is imperative that your company is able to identify why this is occurring so changes are able to be made, and the company can continue to be successful for years to come. One of the most beneficial changes to make this possible is to change from a traditional costing system to activity-based costing. “Activity-based costing is a costing method that is designed to provide managers with cost information for strategic and other decisions that potentially affect capacity and therefore fixed as well as variable costs” (Garrisson, Noreen, & Brewer, 2015, p. 286).
