Running head: HUMAN TRAFFICKING, A GLOBAL PROBLEM 1 Human trafficking, a global problem By Aylen Miranda Miami Dade College Hialeah Campus This paper was prepared for ENC 1102 Professor Dr. Rodriguez Abstract Human trafficking is a global problem today, in which most victims are children and young people. These people are sexually exploited, used in the sale of organs, and forced to work without pay. Studies conducted on this subject reveal that the number of people who profit because of this abominable fact is increasing in our society. Therefore, there should be more severe laws for people who commit this crime. It is necessary that, on a global level, everyone who is related to the abominable fact that is the traffic of people is stopped. They should give death penalty or life imprisonment to these people, because they do not respect freedom and human dignity. With the use of these measures would be given a warning to this type of offender, which does not deserve to have any kind of consideration, since the trafficking of people is one of the most detestable crimes that can commit a human being

HUMAN TRAFICKING, A GLOBAL PROBLEM 2 Keywords: human traffic, children, young people, dignity. Freedom, laws According to Sanchez (2014) The United Nations defines human trafficking as: The recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of persons, by means of the threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation. Exploitation shall include, at a minimum, the exploitation of the prostitution of others or other forms of sexual exploitation, forced labor or services, slavery, or practices like slavery, servitude, or the removal of organs. (p. 18) Many people are currently related to the terrible crime that is the trafficking of people, either as criminals, victims, or taxpayers (person requesting services that involve the victims of this crime). Human trafficking is something of every day, these criminals are closer to us than many of us imagine. These people, sometimes, come to us dressed as good people, but, they are bad people. This crime is a matter of concern for parents and society in general, since children and young people are among the most affected. These children and young people are sexually exploited, forced to work without pay or simply their captors take their lives to sell their organs.
