We are looking at and asked to describe whether or not bargaining power is influenced by deregulation and foreign competition. Bargaining power is influenced by deregulation and foreign competition. Foreign competition and the demand for the labor in the markets has increased and leads to a higher bargaining power. Deregulation and foreign competition have impacted the bargaining power of management and labor. The change has increased the bargain of management because deregulation and unionization of labor has been greatly impacted. This means that there is no way for the union to bring up their concerns in a better way. The impact is not as great as management’s impact. Deregulation has affected the bargaining power of unions by conflicting employees with contracted companies for more cost efficient processes. If there are more markets and less regulation, there are more options to bargain. The more competition or markets there are, the more bargaining power a person has. Increased bargaining power means that people can demand better prices, options, wages, etc. If the organization is not willing to give better options, they will go elsewhere to find what they are looking for. According to Dunlop (n.d.), union and management officials on the local level were more capable to find a mutual accommodation. This is also a way to keep an employee but also find a way to accommodate them so that both sides are content.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
