1. How much money was lost to internet thievery? Is this number accurate? The FBI reported that over half a billion dollars was lost to it. Some estimates are higher. You can’t really get an exact number unless the banks would give it up 2. How has computer hacking changed over the last several decades? Its getting worse as technology continues to evolve it it makes it harder to come up with fixes. 3. What do individuals and businesses do to protect themselves? For computers they use anti viruses to protect against malware. 4. What environmental, social, or other factors might account for the rise in cyber-crime? Typically these hackers are in a group of other hackers, it’s a team effort for these types of crimes. Being around and subjecting yourself to these types of people will eventually become normal for you to be committing these crimes so you go along with it. Then it grows into someone bigger then something bigger than that. Never ending cycle.
