Unformatted text preview: T By Jurena B B Question: How do Baby Boomers have such a terrible reputation and what has their generation contributed to the U.S. culture today? ● ● I never quite understood the full reason why baby boomers are always talked about so negatively. Why does everyone hate them? I wanted to better understand the reasons behind all the hate. You should care because they’re your grandparents or great grandparents and they directly or indirectly through your parents affect you Thesis Baby Boomers helped the economy to grow and may have indirectly contributed to the social norms of today. Acting without empathy, prudence, or respect for facts--acting, in other words, as sociopaths--the Boomers turned American dynamism into stagnation, inequality, and bipartisan fiasco. The Boomers have set a time bomb for the 2030s, when damage to Social Security, public finances, and the environment will become catastrophic and possibly irreversible--and when, not coincidentally, Boomers will be dying off. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
