Brad Mullins Main Discussion Board Post WK1 Evidence Based Practice Evidence-based practice (EBP) is the process of collecting, processing, and implementing research findings to improve clinical practice, the work environment or patient outcomes (Chrisman, Davis, Jordan & Williams, 2014, p. 8). According to the American Nurses Association (ANA), nursing interventions should be practical, methodical decisions based on EBP research studies. Applying the EBP approach to nursing practice aids nurses in providing the highest excellence in care. Evidence-based practice is quickly becoming the gold standard and with this standard comes accountability for nurses, employers, and health organizations to transition care based on this for better outcomes for patients. Evidence Based Practice in my Clinical Area Critical care for patients with cardiac conditions and diagnoses often require ventilator support.
