What did you find in your research about the recent record for unions attempting to organize large bargaining units? What does this mean for the future of unions? This is a very important issue that we are discussing this week. We are taking a look at the recent record for unions attempting to organize large bargaining units. I have found that large companies such as WalMart do not want to have unions. According to Fisher (2014), companies such as WalMart do not want unions because it would make it hard for the companies to have employees work in different departments within the store. Each department has a different work description, policies, aspects, and therefore require a different pay rate. In companies such as WalMart the jobs are technically different and in different departments but almost identical jobs. Regarding WalMart it was mentioned that they would need more than one store or a few employees to implement unions. This could be an issue if many stores and or employees do not want to unionize.
