The book “Our Town” is a work of sentimental fiction in many ways. In the book the people of Grover’s Corner are a close community, the people in the book are like family, they demonstrate community, friendship and care. Each person shows compassion and care for others, they make it a priority to converse with others to make sure they are doing all right. In the town love is a key factor, marriage and courtship. The characters in the book show emotion and give detail for us to feel the same feelings, to know what is going through their minds. The book offers the readers love, like the love between George and Emily. Throughout the book you live through the characters, your heartstrings get pulled when you read through the events. In the book there is simplicity in a day, a love story that ends in marriage and a sad loss of life in the end. The story builds as you continue to read, you learn about the everyday life to build the scene then as it goes you get to feel everything they are and at the end you feel the loss and sorrow that death brings.
