CRJ300 – Introduction to Criminal Justice Option #2: Courtroom Roles: General Analysis The court system is a complex system that relies heavily on everyone completing one task that when combined make out court system. Judges, lawyers, parties, witness, deputies, and reports all work together in making our court system what it is today. A key figure in a courtroom is the judge. In order to become a judge one must attended law school, pass the bar exam, work as an attorney, obtain a judgeship, and complete the training that is required. Once an individual has become a judge they will use a courtroom. The judge presides over the trial from a desk on an elevated platform. The judge has five duties in which they must keep in mind. The first duty is to simply make sure that order is maintained in the courtroom. The second is to determine if any evidence either party want to use is illegal or unsuitable. The third is by providing instruction to the jury before they begin deliberating about
