COM 212 Lab Worksheets Module 2 Submit this completed document no later than Sunday 11:59 PM EST/EDT of Module 2 to the appropriate Dropbox. Lab 3-1 Directions : Please complete all steps associated with Activity 3-1: Using the pwd and cd Commands in Chapter 3 of your textbook. Provide answers to steps 3-7 below. 1. Answer to step 3: Current directory = /home/student 2. Answer to step 4: No. The current directory is now /etc. The cd command stands for “change directory,” so the command “cd /etc” tells the system to change the current working directory in the terminal to /etc. 3. Answer to step 5: / 4. Answer to step 6: The cd command, when entered without any options, takes the user to that user’s “home” directory. In this case, the home directory = /home/student 5. Answer to step 7: The tab key can be used to autofill paths or filenames while working in a terminal window. The letter “D” gave the system a starting point, but pressing the tab key once did not work because there are 3 sub-directories of / which begin with “D.” Pressing the tab key twice causes the terminal to display all the sub-directories that begin with “D.”

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
