The book tells the story of a female slave who loses her parents at the age of six, goes on to live with her mother’s mistress who was kind and generous to her. Linda’s first mistress dies, and she goes on to live with a cruel master and the source of all her problems. No stone is left unturned as she goes on to narrate how young slave girls go through hardships and mistreatment by their masters. From the moment Linda’s mistress who was very kind to her dies, Dr. Flint, her new owner, never treats her as a human being and only sees her as a sex tool. Even though Flint has all the legal rights to do anything he feels like to Linda, he resorts to seducing and tricking her other than raping her. Dr. Flint’s wife who is a callous and a cruel woman enjoys the suffering
