Tutorial 2 for week 3 Your group should prepare 3-5 slides and 5 to 10 minutes’ talk to answer one (only one) of the following topics. 1. Do you know any other standard bodies (except EDI and W3C) defining the scope of e-business and related technologies? What standards have they produced, and what are their functions? When choosing technologies, why are openness and integration important? What roles are XML-based specifications are playing in improving openness and integration? Give some examples. (discover http://www.unedifact.org or http://www.oasis-open.org/ and http://www.ebxml.org/ ) 2. Be familiar with RFC. What are they? Investigate RFC 821 Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) at: http://www.ietf.org . Read chapter 3 on the SMTP Procedure. Also read Appendix F, then using the scenario described in appendix F. prepare a report which explains and diagrams the procedure which sends mail to a server for distribution to multiple recipients.
