Discussion Activity 8.3 Joseph Fusaro What are the various threats to information security in your view? Threats to information security are everywhere. Whether you’re at home on your PC, on a business trip with your laptop, or at Starbucks surfing the web on your smartphone, you are constantly vulnerable to computer crime. The most common threats or annoyances in our day to day lives tend to be spam, malware, adware or spyware. I find that these are most common as we surf the web and open up our e-mails or social media applications. Don’t be fooled though as hackers and viruses are continually looking for ways to attack you if your system doesn’t have a security suite. Hacker dumpster diving for compromising information is another common issue in the workplace if you don’t regularly shred your papers. I feel that in the last couple of years, some major companies such as Sony haven’t put enough emphasis on securing their network. This costs companies millions of dollars and loss of customer trust in their PII (personal
