Introducti on The following information is indicative of is indicative of the totality of our election system, as well as how it is reported to the vast majority of our citizens. It entails the political parties in the United States, which is mainly dominated by a two-party system, known as the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. The following will also differentiate between the various methods for citizens to participate in campaigns, as well as, our use of the media in our political processes. It is desired that the following information will be both informative and comprehensive of the United States’ political system.

The Purpose and Functions of Political Parties in the United States I. The two main Political Parties in the United States: a. Democratic Party – began in the Southern States, Pro-Slavery Party; presently Anti-Slavery Activist, Civil Rights Advocates, and Equal Human Rights. More concerned about constituents. b. Republican Party – began in 1854 by Northern Anti-Slavery activist; presently NRA Involvement, Aristocratic, Establishment Beliefs, Discriminatory Policies, against Public Health Care, Housing and Food Stamps, Abortions, Women’s Rights, Black Lives Matters, DREAMERS, and all Dark Skin Foreigners. More concerned about Donors, such as ARA.
