Title of Qualitative Article Selected Transitions in the Embodied Experience After Stroke: Grounded Theory Study The purpose of this study was to gain an in-depth understanding of embodiment for people after stroke while transitioning from the hospital to the home. The term embodiment was used to describe how people live and experience the world through their bodies. The embodiment theory recognizes that the live body is not just a material object in the world, but it is the foundation for understanding others, ourselves, and for participation in everyday life, through our involvement in activities and social roles we cherish. Qualitative Design Used This was an in-depth descriptive study depicting the individuals in a natural setting. This study used the approach of constructivist grounded theory and involved analysis of data from interviews with patients recently discharged from a hospital after a stroke. This method was selected because it enables conceptual approaches to be developed from information "grounded" in the data. This was to explain what is being expressed, rather than a priori theoretical
