Physics 141/151 Problem Set 8 1. A single loop of wire with an area of 0.0900m is in a uniform magnetic field that has an initial value of 3.80T , is perpendicular to the plane of the loop and is decreasing at a constant rate of 0.190T/s . a) What emf is induced in this loop? b) If the loop has a resistance of 0.600Ω , find the current induced in the loop. 2. A circular loop of wire with a radius of 12.0cm and oriented in the horizontal ݔݕ plane is located in a region of uniform magnetic field. A field of 1.5T is directed along the positive ݖ direction, which is upward. a) If the loop is removed from the region in a time interval of 2.0ms , find the average emf that will be induced in the wire loop during the extraction process. b) If the coil is viewed looking down on it from above, is the induced current in the loop clockwise or counterclockwise? 3. A circular loop of wire is in a region of spatially uniform magnetic field. The magnetic field is directed into the plane of the figure. Determine the direction (clockwise or counterclockwise) of the induced current in the loop when a) ܤ is increasing.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
