" The first time I remember hearing about the Soviet Union and it's conflict with the United States was in 1979 when I was just in elementary school. I didn’t really think much of it, I didn’t even know where Russia was located. But I do remember my mom saying to me that Russians were known as communists. I learned more about it in middle school." 2. What do you remember seeing or reading in the news about the Cold War? “I remember when I was is in Middle School doing research and I found news discussing the dispute. My dad said to me that the Soviet Union would see the United States system work as what they called colonialism. I guess you could say I did my research." 3.
