About SIGNAL Signal is a creative arts studio for young people 13 to 25. At Signal young people work alongside professional artists in a collaborative way. Located in the heart of the city, Signal is a place for making, showing, inspiring and developing Melbourne’s creative young talent. Signal is open to young people from all walks of life and ability. Programs January SIGNAL Summer visual art | installation | design | music production | creative technology | new media | street art | textile & fashion design | animation | illustration| conversations | exhibitions | film screenings| live music and more! Signal Summer is a creative arts program jam-packed with workshops, conversations, exhibitions and performances. The program offers young people the chance to work alongside professional artists, develop skills across a wide range of art forms and present new work. Dates and time Signal summer takes place from January 9 through to January 21 at Signal and other venues across Melbourne’s CBD. For program information and how to apply visit the Signal website. Registrations open November 22 at 9am. Signal Summer is presented in partnership with ACMI, Sugar Mountain Festival, M Pavilion, and Artful Dodgers Studios. February Festival of the Photocopier The Festival of the Photocopier is a four-day zine festival presented by Sticky Institute. The festival features zine launches, zine discussions and the main event - a 200 stall strong zine fair at Melbourne Town Hall. Join artist Rachel Ang in a one-day zine making workshop that explores different illustration and drawing techniques. Get hands-on and create your own zines to be sold at the Signal zine stall at the Festival of the Photocopier the following week.
