Week 6: Petrie's Electronics Cases Ch 10 1. Why don’t information systems projects work out as planned? What causes the differences between the plan and reality? Based on industry standards, project fail because of poor planning, poor quality results and lack of knowledge. Project planning is a discipline for stating how to complete a project within a certain timeframe, usually with defined stages, and with designated resources. However, the reality of systems implementation and operation is that no plan is ever concrete because it could un-expectantly or foreseeably change at any given moment. 2. Why is it important to document change requests? What happens if a development team doesn’t? Most companies have some sort of document like an SSR to request new development, to report problems, or to request new system features for an existing system. When developing the procedures for obtaining maintenance requests, organizations must also specify an individual within the organization to collect these requests and manage their dispersal to maintenance personnel.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
