Reynolds: criteria for conduction aptitude and achievement scores o Correlation and regression analysis must be based on representative samples Are either: Conormed with a standardized achievement test Their normative data are based on the exact same sample of children Linked Specific studies are conducted to determine a mathematical relationship : Between IQ and achievement CONORMED: -Facilitates the calculation of aptitude- achievement comparisons : involve the identification of a stat significant discrepancy between ability and achievement Although it is common for educators to make ability- achievement comparisons it is criticized in practice Can be attributed to measurement error Differences in content covered Variations in student attitude and motivation on different tests o Ways to overcome psychometric problems - BUT no cognitive are more difficult to overcome o Should not be used alone to identify learning disabilities - pursue further tests if you have concerns
