Louie EstevezChallenges and Misinterpretations of Community CollegeI decided to attend CCBC as this was the cheapest and best school that would benefit mycareer the best. After graduation from CCBC I will not be transferring anywhere as school is notmy thing, cars are. I totally agree with everything Belafante is saying, community colleges aremisinterpreted by many and that a lot of students face challenges as I have already witnessed alot and I am also facing financial challenges.Community college students have a harder timewith success as community colleges are majorly underfunded, students at community collegesface barriers that interfere with success, and students specifically at colleges like LaGuardiacommunity college face challenges with growing up in the area they grew up in.Community College students do not get as much funds as a student attending a four-yearprogram. I know from personal experience when I was applying for scholarships that I had to bacout of many scholarships because I am only attending a two-year program. On the websitePetersons, I looked up some scholarships and they also had slim pickings for two-year programs.Larger Universities spend three time as much per student according to theArt of Degreevideoresource we looked at. This lack of funds and attention make it hard for people to attend collegeand once at school they make it hard to be successful with the lack of resources.
