MERU TravelChair Information for parents & Carers What is the TravelChair? The TravelChair is a unique chair that fits into a standard airline seat giving firm, postural support for disabled children whilst they travel by air. It is suitable for disabled children from 3 – 11 years (depending on their size and weight). The TravelChair will accommodate a child with a sitting shoulder height of 32cm to a maximum of 52cm (from base of seat to shoulder) and a maximum weight of 35kgs. What support can the TravelChair offer my child? The TravelChair is designed for a range of physically disabled children who require different types of support to stay comfortably seated on their journey. There’s shoulder and waist support provided by the four strap harness, adjustable head support, adjustable foot support and optional use crotch strap. Hip support comes from the host aircraft seat belt. What is the size and weight of a TravelChair? The TravelChair measures 249 x 396 x 548mm. It is lightweight (approx 7kg) and easy to carry. Can the TravelChair recline? Yes. The TravelChair can recline to the same angle as the host airline seat in which it is placed. Although as with all aircraft seats it needs to be upright for take off and landing. Please seek advice from the airline you are traveling with about seat options.
