In your groups, address the following and list the evidence used to make your decisions. 1. What species concept should be used in this case?  A) Biological species concept should be used in this case, because the  apple maggot flies and hawthorn maggot flies are not physical  indistinguishable. However, they are genetically distinguishable 2. Are apple maggot flies distinct as a species from hawthorn maggot flies?  A) Yes. Apple maggot flies derived from hawthorn maggot flies. The  apple maggot fly is genetically distinguishable from the hawthorn  maggot fly. The behavior of the hawthorn flies with the introduction of apples to the environment (partitioning resources), and the  reproduction period for hawthorn and apple maggot flies differ,  allowing me to draw the reasonable conclusion that apple maggot flies  are indeed different species.  3. Propose a biologically reasonable scenario that explains how apple maggot flies evolved.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
