He was born on February 6, 1911 in Tampico, Illinois; he was on his deathbed on June 5, 2004 in Los Angeles, California. His parents were Nelle and John Reagan. He was the 40thpresident of the United States and is the only actor to ever gain the esteemed title. His time on office saw a renewal of prosperity in homes, with a goal in mind to achieve “peace through strength.” He also pressured the Soviet Union to end the Cold War so they could stop all of the useless fighting. Throughout his life, Ronald Reagan did many great things, from being incredibly involved and studious at school, to being an actor, and finally the president of our great country.Throughout his childhood, Ronald and his family moved around constantly because of his constant of switching jobs, thanks to his father’s incessant alcoholism. They had finally settled down in Dixon, Illinois, in 1920, where Jack, his father, opened up a shoe store in their new town. His father had given him the nickname “Dutch” when he was a baby, saying he resembled a “fat little Dutchman” ( In 1928, Reagan graduated from Dixon highschool, where he was a very popular student body president, performed in school productions, and an athlete. Ronald had an older brother, Neil Reagan. The family went on vacation during their summers and Ronald worked as a pool lifeguard. To further his education, Ronald started attending Eureka College in Illinois, where he was an incredibly active athlete.
